Yosemite Romance Writers has a stellar lineup of authors speaking to the membership this year, so we would like to pay tribute to them in an effort to thank them for their time, their knowledge, and their talent. It will be a pleasure to have them with us throughout 2010.


February - Jami Alden

 

Jami Alden had her first stroke of luck when she was laid off! Wait...laid off? Well, that's how she puts it. When she took her "unscheduled break" from her marketing job, she started writing seriously. Four years later, she sold her first book and is now living the dream, well minus the cabin in the woods.

Jami will be our speaker in Fresno on February 20th.  


March - Tawny Weber

Tawny Weber was inspired by her real life romance with her husband. She figured if her dream of true love had become reality, why couldn't she become a writer? So she buckled down and after many years of hard work and being very involved in her local RWA chapter, Tawny had three books released in 2009, bringing her published total to six and she has three more slated for 2010!

Tawny will speak on March 20th.

May - Allison Brennan


Fans of best-selling author Allison Brennan have enjoyed her books since 2006 when her debut book The Prey was published. Since then Allison has released 13 other books, including her latest series, The Seven Deadly Sins which began with Original Sin which was released in January. Allison busy wife and mother as well as a talented author who shares her time with others, giving workshops and visiting other RWA chapters.

  Allison will be at the YRW Chapter in Fresno on May 15th.

August - Bonnie Hearn Hill


Bonnie Hearn Hillworked as a newspaper editor for 22 years, a job that, along with her natural nosiness, increased her interest in contemporary culture. Prior to her new Star Crossed series from Running Press/Perseus Books, she wrote six thrillers for MIRA Books, as well as numerous short stories, nonfiction books and articles.

On August 21 Bonnie will join us and share information about judging contests as well as provide a critique session.

September - Linda Wisdom


Linda Wisdom is a born and bred Californian who’s written from the first day she could hold a crayon.

After she sold her first two books to then brand spanking new Silhouette Books she continued on, also writing for Dell Candlelight Ecstasy, Harlequin Books, Bantam Loveswept, and a romantic suspense for Kensington.

Her office shows the magick she likes to instill in her books with her collection of dragon and faery figurines, Pocket Dragons and Halloween Barbies.

Her Hex series, along with some of her backlist books, have been optioned for TV and movies.

She lives in Southern California with her husband, two dogs, a parrot, and tortoise that all create their own form of magick.

October - Julia Rachel Barrett

Julia Rachel Barrett is a graduate of the University of Iowa, remains a native Iowan, and works as a Registered Nurse when not writing. Along with her non-fiction endeavors, she writes erotic science fiction, paranormal and contemporary romances for Resplendence Publishing, Siren, Logical Lust and Cobblestone Press.  

Julia will join us on October 20 where her intriguing topic is "Spontaneous Cumbustion: Writing that First Encounter"
